THE PROBLEM
Millions of individuals around the world face a silent crisis: period poverty. This term refers to the struggle many face in affording or accessing the menstrual products they need. In many regions, period products are seen as luxury items, leading to choices between purchasing food or buying tampons and pads. As a result, students miss school, workers skip shifts, and the cycle of poverty deepens. This issue goes beyond just lack of supplies—it extends to inadequate education, stigma, and the mental and physical toll that comes with being unable to manage menstruation safely and with dignity.

OUR IDEA
At PowerYourFlow, we are committed to addressing period poverty through a variety of impactful initiatives. Each of our efforts is designed to raise awareness, provide essential resources, and foster a more supportive and understanding community around menstrual health.
We believe that creating a space where people feel comfortable talking about periods is crucial to breaking the stigma that surrounds them. By encouraging open conversations and education, we aim to dismantle the taboos associated with menstruation. We've already made huge strides in decreasing this stigma at our school, where more students are speaking openly and confidently about their menstrual health. Our mission is to extend this progress beyond our local community, empowering individuals everywhere to talk about periods without shame or embarrassment.

Care Packages at Women Helping Others' Christmas Community Outreach event
We had the amazing chance to distribute our care packages put together with the help of your donations. These packages had pads, hygiene kits, and other essential products. Please donate below to help us create more packages for future events.
Period Cramp Simulator
By using a trend on social media (period cramp challenge), we successfully decreased the stigma surrounding the topic of periods at our school. Additionally, with this fun and slightly competitive activity we also raised awareness about the period cycle and its symptoms.
We have secured an incredible opportunity with an amazing organization to raise funds for our cause. With Mind4Youth’s guidance, we hope to break barriers in the stigma against periods and struggles in period poverty. Please donate using the link below!
